Eating At Sea World

My family and I visited Sea World just a few weeks ago and loved it! We brought a soft sided cooler into the park with sippy cups for my little one and a few snacks. Picnic style lunches are not permitted. Straws are also not allowed because they can harm the animals. There are many great dining options at Sea World. Guests can even purchase "All Day Dining" for $29 per adult and $14.99 per child. Guests will receive a wristband to wear all day. They will be able allowed unlimited visits to participating restaurants and the option to choose one entree, one side and one beverage. This is a great deal if you will be eating lunch and dinner in the park. Because we were only eating lunch at Sea World we opted not to purchase this.

We chose to eat lunch across the bridge at Mango Joe's Casual Island Cuisine. The line was very long and moved very slow so I would recommend going here before the lunch crowd. We chose the chicken salad sandwich, turkey and ham sandwich with potato salad and my children each chose the chicken nuggets and fries. They also have sides of fruit, chips and cake. Overall the lunch was delicious and I would definitely eat here again. I loved the southern style potato salad! The staff was very friendly here and the restaurant was very clean. There is a covered eating area with tables that faces the lake which offers a nice view. The kids meals are served in these cute whale containers:

My Day At Sea World

My family and I visited Sea World Orlando last week. This was our first visit and we absolutely loved Sea World!  This year is their 50th anniversary and tickets are available for sale buy one ticket get one free! We spent a whole day at Sea World but I would recommend planning to spend two days if possible to allow time to watch all of the wonderful shows and be able to ride all of the rides. There are quite a few 'must do attractions' at Sea World.

I highly recommend riding Journey To Atlantis in the morning before the lines get too long. This is an awesome water ride but you will get wet. Antarctica: Empire of the Penguin and penguin interaction area is one of my favorite attractions at Sea World. I love penguins and this is a fun family ride for the whole family. Guests must be 42" to ride. Check out Sea World's live penguin cam to see the adorable penguins. If you enjoy roller coasters be sure to ride Kraken and Manta. Guests must be 54" or taller to ride Kraken and Manta.

My toddlers loved the Shamu's Happy Harbor area which was designed just for small children. There is a huge net climb which is perfect for small children to let out some energy. The Shamu Express is a roller coaster built for small children. This was a big hit with my toddlers. There is even an adorable Sea Carousel and all of the animals are sea creatures.

The Jazzy Jellies are similar to a tea cup type ride in which guests can choose how fast to spin from 30 feet in the air

Dolphin Cove is an amazing feeding and interaction area for anyone wanting to get up close with the beautiful dolphins. The dolphin viewing area is free or you can pay $7 per person and enter the dolphin feeding area. Guests will be given a small container with 3-4 fish to feed to the dolphins. This was such a memorable experience for my 7 year old.

My daughter loved being able to interact and feed the dolphins

There is an underwater dolphin viewing area located directly below Dolphin Cove

Souvenir Pennies make great keepsakes for kids of all ages. There are machines located throughout the park and there are several different designs available.

The shows at Sea World are truly amazing!!

Blue Horizons dolphin show is hands down my favorite show at Sea World! It is a MUST :)

Blue Horizons is a show the whole family will love!

What's Your Favorite Disney Vacation Planning Book?

Welcome to those of you joining me from I Am A Mommy Nerd and those of you just hopping aboard. I am the 2nd stop on our Magical Blogorail.

There are SO many awesome vacation planning books available. When I'm planning a Disney World vacation or Disney Cruise one of my 'must have' books is the Passporter's Disney Cruise Line and Passporter's Walt Disney World books. I absolutely love these books. They are great for both beginners and pro's. They come stocked with detailed maps, storage pockets for park tickets, and detailed information on attractions, shows and restaurants.

Passporter's Walt Disney World guidebook really helps with planning each day of your Disney vacation. The book describes each ride and attraction along with the height requirements and best time of the day to visit each ride. I love the journal section of the book which is located in the very back. This area is a dedicated space for travelers to write down their favorite's from each day of vacation. The guide book also has very detailed information about each resort and even has pictures of the different room layouts. I am a visual learner and I love this feature!

The books are available online at www.passporter.com and they are available as hard copies or E copies starting at just $5.95 and up. They also make a great present for someone planning a Disney vacation.

Thank you for joining me today. Your next stop on the Magical Blogorail Loop is Capturing Magical Memories.

Windsor Hills Resort Review

Many people think they can not afford a Disney vacation. But guess what? You probably could if you stayed off property like we do. We are able to visit Disney World every year because we save and save all year long. But we also save money by staying off property. This year we stayed at Windsor Hills Resort in a beautiful two bedroom two bathroom condo. Windsor Hills Resort is literally less than ten minutes away from Disney. We loved the condo that we rented from Dave & Patti at Vacation Central Florida. You can really tell that Dave & Patti have really gone all out with decorating their condo and making it a great home away from home for their guests. The condo was amazing. I would highly recommend it. And best of all these condo's are available for rent for as low as $199/week (if you catch a great sale). Most weeks rent for $399+ for a two bedroom two bathroom. The property is absolutely beautiful and I felt 100% safe. There is a gated entrance and you have to have a pass to get in the resort. There is a fun playground for children to enjoy:

Gated entrance to Windsor Hills Resort

Guests can also access this wonderful fitness center that overlooks the beautiful resort style pool

You can see more photo's of the various other condo's and townhomes that are available for rent from Dave & Patti at www.vacationcentralflorida.com

These condo's are all decorated adorably! My children absolutely loved their bedroom:

Little touches like this talking Mickey Mouse lamp really make the room fun

The kitchen was fully stocked complete with special Disney touches such as these door knobs

The master bathroom was huge and had a wonderful shower.

Windsor Hills Resort has a beautiful beach entry style resort pool complete with comfortable lounge chairs and a hot tub for relaxing. There is also a children's splash area and a waterslide.

My daughter loved this water slide

Tips & Advice:
  • Be sure to check their website for last minute specials, this is the best way to save money
  • There is a wonderful and somewhat brand new shopping center just down the street from Windsor Hills (take a left onto I-92) with a nice Publix grocery store and a Super Target
  • Allow time in your schedule to just relax and spend a day at this beautiful resort style pool.
  • There is a shop on property at the club house that you can purchase milk, bread, etc. if you are too tired to visit the grocery store when you check in. They also serve sandwiches and drinks which is great if you want to spend a day relaxing by the pool. They are open 7 days a week from 8 am until 10 pm.

Via Napoli (Birthday) Dinner Review

There are so many wonderful restaurants at Epcot! My family loves Italian food and because we have three children under age 7 it is important to eat at a restaurant that is somewhat 'loud' and kid friendly. We chose to celebrate my daughter's 7th birthday dinner at Via Napoli last week. I made the advanced dining reservation about three months prior. I added a note on the reservation that we would be celebrating a birthday.

I absolutely love this fun and colorful chandelier in the lobby of Via Napli

Children are given a fun Duffy Bear themed placemat for coloring

This is the Via Napli kids pizza margherita which my two children easily shared

The birthday girl was surprised by a group of Italian waiters singing Happy Birthday :)

Our waiter surprised my daughter with this fun birthday cookie sandwich and a candle

My husband and I both love chicken parmigiana so we both (shocker) ordered the chicken parmigiana entree which costs $26 each. I wish I had taken a photo of how big this entree was. It was truly the BEST chicken parmigiana I have ever had. The meal is served with delicious roasted potatoes. Our waiter brought us bread with olive oil prior to the meal arriving. We also ordered the children a fruit salad cup which was huge. Again, I wish I had taken a photo of this, my children devoured it within a few minutes before I could grab my camera because they were so hungry. The fruit salad had strawberries, grapes, blueberries and oranges. Overall we loved our dinner at Via Napoli. The children ordered the kids pizza margherita which cost $9.50. We would definitely return and next time I hope to try the delicious pizza.
