My Day Touring Washington D.C.

I live just about two hours away from the Nation's capital, Washington D.C. Now that my kids are a little older I decided to take them to do some touring of Washington D.C. We thought about riding the train because parking in D.C can be quite hard to find (and expensive) but we ended up driving. I was able to find a great parking space online with the website https://www.parkwhiz.com/. You just put in the city you are traveling to and it will pull up the many parking garages and prices. I ended up paying only $12 for the whole day to park in Washington D.C!!

The trolley ride was so much fun!

We really wanted the kids to be able to see all of the major 'tourist' spots in D.C. However they are all spread out and would require A LOT of walking. Luckily I found Old Town Trolley Tours website. They offer a wonderful narrated tour on open air trolleys! The tour starts at the Washington Welcome Center. There is a huge gift store here and you can purchase same day tickets here also. They also have a very nice restroom for customers to use. Trolley tickets cost $39/each for adults and $29 for kids ages 4-12 but you can find coupons usually. Also, food is allowed on the trolleys. We packed a cooler and let the kids eat lunch on the trolley. They loved this!
