Pro's and Con's To Staying On Property At Disney World

There are so many wonderful resorts at Disney World to choose from. How do you pick just one?! I am here to help you decide.

Pro's to staying on property

  • Location, Location, Location!
  • Save time from driving to the parks and use the FREE Disney transportation system
  • Buses, Boats and Monorails Oh my! There are many ways to access the theme parks from many on property resorts
  • Adorable themed rooms (Art of Animation is my favorite themed resort for children, Finding Nemo suites and Little Mermaid rooms are absolutely adorable!)
  • Free theme park parking if you choose to drive
Dole Whips at the Polynesian Resort are definitely a PRO for me :)
Many different transportation options available!
Con's to staying on property
  • More expensive (unless you stay at a value resort)
  • Lack of full kitchen (unless you rent a villa)
  • Less space than a two bedroom condo
Conclusion, if you are traveling with a larger family it might be better to look at all of your options including staying off property to save money. Renting a house would be cheaper than renting an on property villa at Disney. However, if you love all things Disney and have one or two children then you can squeeze into a standard room at a value or moderate on property hotel such as Port Orleans or Coronado Springs Resort. This would allow your family the quickest access to the theme parks and free parking if you choose to drive. When you stay on property you do not have to pay the $14 per day parking fee to park at the theme parks.

  1. also the resort fee if u stay at disney resort or surrounding spots.

  2. Definitely planning an RV Camping trip to Coronado from BC Canada very soon. Looks like a lot of great things to see and eat!
