Take A Look At Our Family Stateroom On #Oasisoftheseas #royalcaribbean

We recently cruised on Oasis of the Sea's and we absolutely loved it! Check out my previous post. We are a family of 5 so we really enjoyed the family oceanview stateroom. Our stateroom was located on deck 11 and had a huge window that my children were thrilled to sit on. We had bunk beds, a huge king size bed and a sleeper sofa. The stateroom sleeps 6 people. I would highly recommend the family stateroom to anyone wanting some extra space. There are two huge closets, a privacy curtain between the bed and the sleeper sofa and a mini refrigerator. The bunk beds had a light above each bed and a small cabinet perfect for storing clothing. Our luggage also fit under the bunk beds which was perfect.

The view from the front door looking into the stateroom

The shower has 2 hooks for hanging swimsuits (tip: bring suction cups for additional hanging space)

The bathroom had one small cabinet (pictured on the right above sink)

The mini refrigerator was perfect for our needs

There are 2 of these huge closets with plenty of storage space for shoes and clothing, our luggage even fit in here.

All About Our Royal Caribbean Cruise

We went on our very first family cruise with our three children a few weeks ago. We sailed on Royal Caribbean's Oasis of the Sea's. The ship was absolutely amazing and we had SO much fun!! Over the next few weeks I'm going to share all of our adventures both on the ship and on the islands. We visited Nassau, Bahamas; St. Thomas and St. Maarten USVI.

The ship departed from Port Canaveral, Florida. We drove our own vehicle and parked at the Port. Parking rates can be found here. Did you know that Port Canaveral, Florida is only a 45 minute drive to Disney World?! We planned a surprise visit after the cruise (more on that later too).

Arrival Procedure
We arrived at the Port at 10:30 am and the lines were very light. We found a parking space and went to check in. We waited about 30 minutes total and were able to board the ship by 11:00 am!! We carried on our 12 pack of Propel bottled water so my husband had to lug that around until our room was ready. Next time I would just put the bottled water in a small rolling suitcase and roll it on. Once we boarded the ship we headed straight to the kids pool and splash zone. My kids were so excited to explore the ship. Once our stateroom was ready we were able to drop off our carry on luggage and bottled water and explore the ship. We grabbed lunch at Park Cafe (a great spot to grab a quick panini or salad). Then we went to the mandatory muster drill at 4:00 followed by the sail away party.

My Time Dining
We had My Time Dining each night on the ship. I would highly recommend making your dinner reservations ahead of time online. I made our reservations (for the main dining room) as soon as it became available to do so online (about the 120 day mark). I chose an early dinner time because my children get hungry (and cranky) if they do not eat dinner by 6. We did request a table by the window and we were pleasantly surprised when we received a wonderful table by a huge window each night. Our server was wonderful and we also requested her each night when we left.

Adventure Ocean Kids Club
I have three children, ages 10, 7 and 6. They all visited the Adventure Ocean kids club daily on the ship. The kids clubs are divided by age groups: Aquanauts ages 3-5, Explorers ages 6-8 and Voyages ages 9-11. My two youngest children were so happy they were able to be in the same kids club together. Each day the children's program was a different theme. The kids club is open all day long on port days when the ship is docked. On "Sea Days" the kids club is open from 9-12, 2-5 and 7-10 pm. The counselors in the kids club were so wonderful. They knew my kids names by the second day of the cruise. My kids had so much fun playing Gaga Ball, freeze tag, Bingo, arts and crafts, making slime, making Pirate bandana's, etc. in the kids club. Oh and I should mention, kids club is free!! Unless you want take your children there at 10 pm for the extended evening session, this is $7/hour per child.

More to come on our cruise adventures....Stay tuned......
