Planning For My Disney Vacation

Please join me as I plan my family of five's next Disney World vacation. Over the next few months I am going to be sharing details about our upcoming vacation. We are yearly visitors to Disney World and this year we are super excited because the children's grandparents are going to come with us! They will be staying off property at a nearby hotel. Please leave me a comment and let me know if you have dined at one of these restaurants that we have made ADR's at. I'd love to hear your experiences.

I have been busy making all of our ADR's and mapping out which parks we will visit on specific days. So far the line up for ADR's consist of a character breakfast at my favorite restaurant---O'hana :) And we are going to be having dinner for the very first time at Chef's De France in Epcot. I am excited to experience this meal, the menu looks delicious and I have yet to read a bad review. We are also going to be dining at Fulton's Crab House for the very first time. I have wanted to dine here for many years and we finally decided to splurge and have dinner there this year. Now that the children are a little older I think they will be much better behaved. That was one of the reason's we had yet to dine at Fulton's Crab House because it is more of a 'fancy' restaurant and I would hate for a screaming baby to ruin someone's dinner. We are also going to have dinner in the Magic Kingdom at Tony's Town Square. I love Italian food and I also love that we can sit outside on the adorable patio with a view of Main Street from the restaurant.

We will be celebrating both of my girl's May birthdays during our Disney World vacation. I went ahead and ordered a super cute Princess themed birthday cake to be delivered as a surprise for the girls at dinner. Visit Disney's Floral and Gifts website to check out the amazing surprises available for celebrations I am also planning to surprise the girls with a new DVD and princess costume. The DVD will come in handy for the long 12 hour drive home after the vacation :) And they can wear the new princess costumes at Disney World as well as for playing at home. I try to keep things simple and on a budget. I always avoid purchasing princess costumes at Disney World because they are just so pricey. I always purchase costumes at because they are machine washable and my children love them because the costumes are not scratchy!

Here's my littlest one in her Mom Approved Costume :)

Leave me some comments with your personal experiences if you've dined at Fulton's Crab House, Tony's Town Square or Chef's De France. This will be my very first time to have dinner there and I'd love to hear your thoughts :)

What You Should & Shouldn't Carry In Your Disney Parks Bag

Welcome to the first stop aboard Magical Blogorail. Enjoy the ride as we share what we carry in our Disney Parks bag.

On my families very first Disney World vacation I did a ton of research and to be honest I over packed. I over packed our luggage and I over packed our park book bags. Having three children under age 7 I feel like it is always ok to over pack because you never know when you might need an extra shirt, shorts, socks, underwear, etc. But when it comes to the park bag that someone (unlucky husband) has to carry around all day long it is not always a good thing to be over packed!

I always pack my super cute personalized Disney tumbler for the stroller cup holder :)

I have limited our park bag the past few years to ensure that A. it does not get too heavy and B. it is only practical items that we have actually had a need for. My park bag used to consist of diapers, wipes, sunscreen, chapstick, camera, camcorder, cell phone, park tickets, sunglasses for all of the children, autograph books, snacks, extra clothes for 3 kids, etc. But that bag got VERY heavy and we found that we rarely needed some of the items we were lugging around. That being said, now that my children are all out of diapers (thank goodness!) it has allowed for a less packed park bag.

My Disney park bag consists of the following items: bandaids, camera, cell phone, park tickets, hand sanitizer, pony tail holders, sunglasses for the children, chapstick and sunscreen. We have started leaving the autograph books in the stroller storage bag along with a change of clothes for each child including a beach towel in case they get wet. I still bring snacks with me but I do not carry them in the backpack. The snacks go in a soft sided cooler that we hang on the back of the stroller.

Here is my park bag

Valentine's Day Crafts For Toddlers

Welcome to the first stop aboard the Blogorail. Enjoy the ride as we share some fun Valentine's Day crafts.

Valentine's Day is such a fun holiday! There are tons of simple and affordable craft projects for the whole family. I am going to share with you a few idea's that require minimal supplies and very little money :)

First up, let your kids help decorate for Valentine's Day

My kids love to help me decorate for pretty much any occasion. I purchased these adorable mailboxes at Michael's Craft Store and a bag of sticky sparkly hearts. Then I wrote each child's name on the mailbox and let them decorate them. Super easy and they had a blast!
Making hand made Valentine's Day cards is another fun craft for toddlers. I already had construction paper on hand and a Mickey Mouse hole puncher. I purchased some Disney stickers at a craft store and let my kids go to town decorating their cards and coloring them.

I pre cut the Mickey Mouse heads and then let my toddler decorate the card by herself

Staying Fit & Healthy at the Disney Parks

Welcome to the first stop aboard Magical Blogorail. Enjoy the ride as we share tips for staying fit and healthy at the Disney Parks. We are talking about staying fit and healthy at Walt Disney World this week. To stay fit and healthy you need to try to avoid those delicious looking ice cream carts and instead look for the healthy carts that serve fresh fruit and bottled water :) My favorite healthy snacking spot at the Magic Kingdom is located in Liberty Square near the Columbia Harbour House. The Liberty Square Market serves a wide variety of fresh fruits, fruit and nut trail mixes, fruit juices and bottled water.

My favorite choices include the baked potato and fresh fruit

My children's favorite options include the apple slices and grapes

I love that you can choose healthy snacks throughout the theme parks

Another great spot for a healthy snack is located in Fantasyland at Prince Eric's Village Market. You can find fresh fruit, Vitamin Water, Smart Water, bottled water, hummus and chips, mixed veggie cup and dip, Ocean Spray fruit and nut trail mix,

Don't forget to avoid the soda if you are trying to stay healthy. Disney offers complimentary ice water at most quick service spots. You just have to ask.

Thank you for joining me today. Your next stop on the Magical Blogorail Loop is Super Heroes and Teacups.
