Best Apps For Kids For The iPad and iPhone

There are SO many apps to choose from now days, however, only a few that don't require WIFI. With an upcoming twelve hour road trip to Florida I am preparing ahead and downloading tons of new apps for my iPad for my children to play. This should keep them busy for at least a few hours. I'm going to share with you some of my favorite apps for kids for both the iPhone and iPad

How To Create A Budget Friendly St. Patrick's Day For Your Kids

St. Patrick's Day is going to be here before you know!! My kids are really into the whole Leprechaun visit and they love pinching people who aren't wearing green. I am going to share with you some really budget friendly ways to make St. Patrick's Day special for your little one's!


First off, you just need a few things from the store. Pick up some green food coloring, Lucky Charms cereal, and some yellow cake mix and icing of your choice. Add the green food coloring to the yellow cake mix and bake following instructions on the box. The cake (or cupcakes) will be green and super festive! Add a few Lucky Charms to the top of the cake after you ice it. You could serve the cake for dessert on St. Patrick's Day or even for a snack after school.

It's fun to decorate the kitchen table the morning of St. Patrick's Day with some festive beads to go along with the theme. Most of the items I use to decorate the kitchen table I already had lying around the house. Hobby Lobby also has a lot of great St. Patrick's Day decorations. Start the day out with  really easy and fun St. Patrick's Day breakfast: green pancakes!! What kid doesn't love pancakes?! Dye the mix green and use a shamrock mold to shape the pancakes if you have a shamrock cookie cutter. If not, just making the green pancakes will do! A fun touch is green sprinkles and whipped cream. Don't forget to add green food coloring to the milk!!

When your little's are home from school you could serve them some super cute green snacks (check out my Pinterest board for lots of fun ideas)  I personally love the green popcorn idea!

                                                    

Make the day fun and creative with surprises around every corner. You could even leave a few gold coins under your child's pillow the night before or in their backpacks.

Must Have Items For A Cruise

Today I am going to share with you some of my favorite must have items for a cruise!! My family is really excited about our upcoming Royal Caribbean cruise to the Caribbean. After reading Cruise Critic I discovered these awesome clear cruisetags for your baggage. These tags are especially nice because they will fit your Royal Caribbean baggage tags that you print out at home and they will protect them in the event of rain. These awesome baggage tags can be purchased online at Amazon. An 8 pack costs $10.95.

Another great item to have for a cruise is a selfie stick!! I love pink and I was so happy to discover this super compact extendable selfie stick!! Selfie sticks are great, especially when you're on vacation and you want to capture the moment and actually be in the family photo also! This selfie stick is on sale this week for just $4.99!! I purchased it a few weeks ago for $14.99. So act fast! It is available online at Amazon.

Another great item for cruising is this super cute wet and dry bag by Yummi Pouch. Perfect for packing up on the last day of your cruise if you have a wet swimsuit that you don't want in your suitcase getting everything wet. Also these bags are great for your beach bag to hold your sunscreen, bug spray, etc. to keep these liquid items separate from your clothes and towels. I just love the fun bright colors in this chevron pattern.These are available online at Amazon.

Another must have for cruisers, especially if you are unsure whether or not your children will suffer with motion sickness while on a cruise is motion sickness bands. I purchased these bands at Triple A but I believe that you can find these at pharmacies, online and maybe even Walmart. 

I also recommend purchasing suction hooks for hanging your wet swimsuits to dry in your shower. Most cruise ship staterooms sadly do not have a lot of space for hanging your wet swimsuits to dry after a day at the beach or the pool. As a family of 5, we have quite a lot of swimwear to hang. So I purchased these heavy duty suction hooks from Bed Bath & Beyond. They cost $10 for a 6 pack. I can also use these at home before and after the cruise.
